A Descriptive study on reduplication in Kotagana dialect of Nagekeo Language
ABSTRACT
This study is “A descriptive study on reduplication in Kotagana Dialect of Nagekeo Language”. The aims of the study are: (1) To find out the types on reduplication in Kotagana Dialect of Nagekeo language, and (2) To find out the meaning on reduplication in Kotagana dialect of Nagekeolanguage. The writer took five folklore, they were; KeliNata folklore, Ana susa folklore, Kutuneéwawiyui folklore, Yoáneépakefolkore and TiwuKuyufolklore.The data were taken from Folklore of Nagekeo Regency which is told directly by 5 native speakers.The method of this study was descriptive qualitative method. The data collection technique used was interview.In analyzing the data, the writer used the theory about reduplication by Ramlan (1983).The result of this study showed that there were two types of reduplication in folklore of Nagekeo Regency; full reduplication and reduplication with phoneme changes. While the meaning of reduplication found four meanings, namely: express multiple meaning, a repetition process does not change the meaning of basic form, states the action is basically done with pleasure or casually and stated that is manufacture in the basic form it is done by two parties regarding each other.
