An Analysis on referential meaning of people nemes in Loli Society of West Sumba Regency

ABSTRACT
This research is About An Analysis On Referential Meaning of People’s Name in Loli Society of West Sumba Regency. The problems of this study are, 1). what are the Referential Name’s of Loli People’s and 2). What are the types of the Reference used to Name People in Loli Society of West Sumba Regency. and classify the types of referential meanings of people’s name in loli society. Data were collected by interviewing some informants of Loli people. Living in Loli district. All data were analyzed by applying descriptive qualitative method. After analyzing the data, it was found out that there are 40 names of loli people. The name that used by the people were given based on the ancestors name. the types of referential name are meaning of futurative that consist of eight names such as Buni Kose,and Lede Pare Siango, meaning of situational consist of ten names such as Bulu Leiju Ngaba, and Buni Dengi Api, and meaning of memories of twenty-two names such as Bulu Pata Ledi, and Leba Kadu Lewa. The research could give more information for students who want to study about referential meaning of people’s name in loli society of west sumba regency.
