A Descriptive study on teachers teaching methods of english course at SMA N. 1 Kupang Timur

ABSTRACT


The title of this study is “A DESCRIPTIVE STUDY ON TEACHERS’ TEACHING METHODS OF ENGLISH COURSE AT SMAN 1 KUPANG TIMUR”. The aim of this study are to find out the teachers teaching methods of English course. The design of this research is a descriptive qualitative method. The sample used is three English teachers, the research instrument used to conduct the data are interview and record, the writer asks some questions to the teachers. The writer transcribe the recording result, the writer identified the data, classified the data, the writer analyzed the data, and the writer describe a conclusion. The results of the study indicate that of the three English teachers each have teaching methods they use when teaching in class. From the result teaching methods used by English teacher I are: Cooperative learning method, Genre based text method, Project based method, Problem based method, Jigsaw method, Role playing method, and Numbered head together method. The methods used by English teacher II are: Problem based method and Discovery learning method. The methods used by the English teacher III are: Problem based method, Discovery learning method, and Genre based text method.
