The Use of speech act of Sewu Api (A Traditional Ceremony of Lio Ethnic)

ABSTRACT
The Sewu Api ceremony is one of the traditional ceremony carried out by the Lio ethnic, this ceremony is usually carried out once a year. The Sewu Api ceremony is a thanksgiving ceremony to the ancestors and olso to God because in one year it has provided abundant harvest to the community. The Sewu Api ceremony is usually carried out for three days. The Sewu Api ceremony is usually carried out by feeding the deceased ancestor and perfoming traditional dance together and olso the Sewu Api ceremony as a moment to ask the ancestors to give blessings to avoid harm and give healt and also success, usually in the Sewu Api traditional ceremony it is usually led by the ancestors who is usually called in the Ende language that is Mosalaaki. The Sewu Api ceremony is convinced by the local community, especially the Lio ethnic. Based on the description above, there are problems that need to be discussed in this pape, included (1) What types of speech acts are commonly used in the Sewu Api ceremony inn the Lio ethnic? (2) What is the meaning of speech act of the Sewu Api ceremony in the Lio ethnic? The purpose of this study is to find out what type of speech acts are commonly used in the Sewu Api ceremony in the Lio ethnic and olso know the process of the Sewu Api ceremony in the Lio community. Lio ethnic complete information regarding the the required data from the Mosalaki or ancestors, culture observes, and communyti shops , using the observation and interview method on the ancestors as the traditional shop that makes the Sewu Api ceremony and collectin primary data and secondary data is also shown by a literature review . The data collected is qualitative , from the research in the field , is is know that there are only ten speech act used in the Sewu Api ceremony in the Lio Ethnict such as , Act of greeting, act of pleading , speech acts of praise ,Speech Act of Asking, Promised Speech acts, Speech acts suggest,Waring speech acts , The speech act of Confirming, Spech Act gratituded, Speech Act of Ask. The Sewu Api ceremony seves to carry out harvest celebrations and express gratituded to God and ancestors who have givethe harvest and olso ask for blessing from ancestors who haved died and have religious, familial, and culture meaning.
