ABSTRACT

The title of this Thesis is ‘‘An Analysis of Ideational Meaning of the Song Lyric in Michael Learns to Rock Greates Album Hits ‘Paint My Love’. The research problems of this study are:1) what is theideational meaning found in the song lyric of Michael Learns to Rock greatest hits‘Paint My Love? 2) How are the proces used to express the ideational meaning on the song of Michael learns to rock.The aims of this study are: 1) to find out theideational meaning in the song lyric of Michael Learns to Rock greatest hits‘Paint My Love 2) to describe and identify the process used of ideational meaning on the song of Michael learns to rock. In this research the writer used qualitative method to describe the data. The data was taken from the lyric song in MLTR Greates hits Album, afterfound the data, the writer analyzed the data and find out the ideational meaning realized with the participant such as I, you, they, he, she and its, processes (material process, mental process, existential process, verbal process, behavioral process and relation process), and circumstance such as the rain and snow, tomorrow and here today.
