A Descriptive study on door to door english learning during covid-19 pandemic in SMPN Satu Atap Batulai in Kuli Aisele Village at Rote Regency
ABSTRACT
This research aimed at knowing the advantages and disadvantages of door to door English learning during Covid-19 pandemic at SMPN Satu Atap Batulai. This research generally answered two questions as follows: (1)what are the advantages of the door-to-door English Learning during Covid-19 pandemic in SMPN Satu Atap Batulai in Kuli Aisele Village at Rote Regency?and (2)What are the disadvantages of the door to door English Learning during Covid-19 pandemic in SMPN Satu Atap Batulai in Kuli Aisele Village at Rote Regency. There were two teachers of SMPN Satu Atap Batulai involved in this study. To attain the aims of this study, the data were collected through interview and questionnaire. The collected data were analyzed using descriptive qualitative. The findings revealed that teachers had thirteen advantages and disadvantages during door to door English learning. The advantages included door to door learning is one of the solutions when online learning is not available, can encourage students motivation learning, can create a fun learning atmosphere, did not needed a lot of equipment, directing students towards a better environment, parents supporting students in learning, does not interfere the students time, got agood responses from students, and door to door learning was suited with covid-19 situation. Meanwhile, the disadvantages includeddoor to door learning does not impact on physical activity and creativity of students, cannot increase the learning interest of students, teachers got some obstacles in learning,and the last, teachers experinced some losses in learning
