An Analysis on generic structure of narrative english story telling Tihu Lake

ABSTRACT

This research entitled An Analysis on Generic Structure of Narrative English Story Telling ‘Tihu Lake’. The research problems of this study is“what are the generic structure on English Simplifiedstory telling‘Tihu Lake’? And the aim of study from this research is to find outthe generic structure on English Simplifiedstory telling‘Tihu Lake’. This research concerned on generic structure of Tihu Lake short story. The data was collected or taken fromANTOLOGICERITA RAKYATPULAU AMBON DAN PULAU-PULAU LEASE by Anna P. Soplanit, S.Pd.The method used is descriptive qualitative.The result of this study shows that there are four component of generic structure of Tihu Lake short story. First, orientation such as(one day there was a husband and wife who lived alone in the middle of the forest in a cave (stone hole)), Sequence of events such as (Saatitutakdirberkatalain, suaminyadimakanolehraksasaitu. istrinya(At thattime fate said otherwise, her husband was eaten by the giant), Resolution such as(Setelahmerekadewasa,ibunyaberkatakepadamerekajikasudahsaatnyamerekaharusmembunuhraksasaituuntukmembalaskandendam ayah mereka yang di bunuholehraksasaitudanmerekapunmengikutiapa yang dikatakanibumereka. (After they grew up, their mother told them when it was time they had to kill the giant to avenge their father who was killed by the giant and they followed what their mother said), Coda such as(Saatitumerekatidaktahuharusberlarikemana, duaanakkembaritumelompatkedalamair danmenjadiduaekorbuayaputihdanibunyamemilihuntukmati di tempatitudanmenjadibatuberbentukpulaukecil yang ada di tengah-tengahdanauitu, hinggasekarang orang memanggilpulauituadalahpulauibu.(At that time they did not know the wayfor running, the two twins jumped into the water and became two white crocodiles and their mother chose to die in that place and became a rock in the shape of a small island in the middle of the lake, until now people call the island is mother island). The generic structures have been described by using the four component of generic structure.
