An Analysison students problem faced in writing descriptive text at SMP Negeri Satu Atap Fatubia

ABSTRACT
Research problem in this research that is: What are the problems faced by the students in writing descriptive text? This research is aimed is to find out the students problems in writing descriptive text at SMP NegeriSatuAtapFatubia. Population in this research is all students’ class VIII with total 39 students’, and the sample in this research is class VIII A with total 20 students. To obtain the data required for this research, the writer has given an explanation about descriptive text and then given the time for students to write their own text about descriptive text especially in describing people. The results of this study showed that the students’ faced several problems in writing descriptive text. They were: grammar, vocabulary, organization, content, and mechanic. Therefore, to overcome this problem teacher should give more attention in teaching descriptive by paying attention to students’ grammar, vocabulary, organization, content, and mechanic. Teacher is also need to find some interest activity to make teaching English especially writing can be understood by students.
