An Analysis of plot found in "Rumah Dara Movie" (2010) by MO Brother

ABSTRACT

This research is conducted under the title “AN ANALYSIS OF PLOT FOUND IN “RUMAH DARA MOVIE” (2010) BY MO BROTHER”. The aims of the research are to find out the elements of plot found in Rumah Dara Movie and to find out the function of plot found in Rumah Dara Movie. Qualitative research was used as the method of this research and documentation technique was used to collect the data to complete this research. Barnet’s theory about five elements of plot was used as the main theory to analyze the data. Based on the data analysis of the plot in the Rumah Dara Movie, it was found out there are five elements in the plot of Rumah Dara Movie. The first element related to beginning problem that consist of six data, second was increasing problem consists of five data, third was peak problem (climax) consist of 13 data, fourth was decreasing problem that consists of five data and fifth ending problem that consist of two data. There were 11 functions of plot found in Rumah Darah Movie. The first function was plot attention on the significant parts of the character’s lives, second function plot focuses attention on the significant chatracter’s, third function was plot motivates character’s to effect the story, fourth function was plot connects events for the reader fifth function was plot stars the story with a bang, sixth function plot was engages in the middle of the story , seventh function was plot reveals the story gradually, eighth function was plot leads to the climax, ninth function was plot draws on the reader’s emotions, tenth function was plot ultimately releases the reader, eleventh function was plot a mamento.
