ABSTRACT
This thesis is about “ Teacher’s Role in Classroom Management in The Process of Teaching English Subject at SMP Kristen 2 Kie, East Amanuban in Academic Year 2015/2016”. The research problem of this study is “What are the Teacher’s Role in Classroom management in The Process of Teaching English subject at SMP Kristen 2 Kie, East Amanuban in Academic Year 2015/2016. The aim of this study is to find out the teacher’s role in classroom management in the process of teaching English subject. The method used in this study was Descriptive Qualitative method to explain or describe variables as really happened in the past or present. In this case to describe the implementation of classroom management during the process of teaching English subject. The subject of this study is an English teacher of SMP Kristen 2 Kie in academic year 2015/2016. The instrument used to get the data is Observation. The data analysis is based on descriptive analysis in which the data are tabulated and described in the form of words and sentences. The data were then analysed based on the teacher’s role in classroom management which are proposed by Harmer (1989:200). He suggested some roles that should be played by a teacher in relation to the management of classroom. Based on the data analysis, the writer found that the English teacher of SMP Kristen 2 Kie apply all the roles of classroom management in teaching and learning process. The roles are, controller, prompter, resource, assessor, organizer, participant and tutor. Therefore, it can be concluded that a teacher in running teaching learning process has to play the role of classroom management to maintain and stabilize classroom condition which is condusive, comfortable, and friendly in order to make her students like to study inside the class.
