A Discourse analysios on the use of cohesion in "Bruce Almighty" Movie

The title of this writing is “A Discourse Analysis on the Use of Cohesion in “Bruce Almighty” Movie’’ The aims of this research are to answer the research problems namely; 1) What are the cohesive devices used by the character in Bruce Almighty movie?, 2) What are the types of cohesion that used by the character in Bruce Almighty movie? The method used in this writing is qualitative method. The data research of this resarches is a movie with the title “Bruce Almighty” which the writer downloaded from youtoube. The writer collected the data through an investigation, the results show that there are the grammatical and lexical cohesion in the movie, for examples the grammatical cohesion, based on the conversation: Clausal subtitution, BRUCE:No, ah...Honey, you're going to be late, GRACE:No, I'm not and then The example of repitition in lexical cohesion, Bruce: It isn't real, it isn't real, it isn't real and the types of cohsion found in the movie, they are namely , the grammatical cohesion Personal reference, Demonstrative Reference, Comparative Reference, Nominal Substitution, Verbal Substitution, Clausal Substitution, Verbal Ellipsis, Clausal Ellipsis, Additive Conjunction, Adversative Conjunction, Causal Conjunction and Temporal Conjunction then in the lexical cohesion are, repitition and collacation.The writer expects this writing could be as information to the watcher or reader about the grammatical and lexical cohesion in the movie Bruce Almighty.
