The Apllication of information gap tasks in teaching english at SMK Mentari Kupang in 2016/2017 school year
The title of this study is “The Application of Information Gap Tasks in Teaching English at SMK Mentari Kupang in 2016/2017 School Yearâ€ÂÂ. Therefore the research question that drives this study is “How is the application of information gap tasks in teaching English at SMK Mentari Kupangâ€ÂÂ. The aim of this study is to know the application of information gap tasks in teaching English at the second grade of hotel accomodation SMK Mentari Kupang. The method used in this study is Descriptive qualitative. Research participants within this study are the second grade students of SMK Mentari Kupang in Hotel Accommodation Department with total of 25 students and 1 English teacher in that school. Instruments for data collection are observation and interview. The result of this study shows that there are four procedures applied in Information Gap Tasks by the English teacher in teaching English to the students of SMK Mentari Kupang classroom, namely 1) planning consists of materials, making lesson plan and designing the step to do the action; 2) acting consists of presenting section and information gap section; 3) observing consists of monitoring teaching and learning activity; 4) reflecting consists of evaluate teaching and learning activity.
