ABSTRACT
The title of this study is “A STUDY ON SELF DIRECTED LEARNING FOR
SPEAKING SKILL OF STUDENT AT SMP NEGERI 5 SULAMU IN ACADEMIC YEAR 2016 ” This writing was conducted in order to answer the following question : What are the
factors affecting on Self Directed Learning for Speaking skill of students at SMP Negeri 5
Sulamu in academic year 2016. The aim of this study is to find out information about the factors
affecting on Self Directed Learning for Spaking Skill. The method used in the research is
Descriptive mtehod. The population of this research are 20 students in class XI. The result of this
study the writer found out elefen the factors affecting Self Directed Learning in SMP Negeri 5
Sulamu especially students class XI, there are: Intelligence, interests, talents, Motivation,
Teachers, Media, The condition of the building school, The perents, The house, The family
economic situtation and Playmates. The Conclusion of this study is the affect of Self Directed
Learning on Speaking skill that found in SMP Negeri 5 Sulamu on XI class in academic year
2016 are Internal Factors and External Factors.
