ABSTRACT
This thesis is entitled “An analysis on students’ responses towards English teacher’s requests (A Case Study on The seventh grade students of SMP N 13 Kupang In Academic Years 2016/2017). The problem of this study is what are the student’s responses toward the English teacher requests at SMP N 13 Kupang in academic year 2016/2017. The writer choses descriptive method in this study in which the data are analyzed based on the students’ responses to the questionnaire and observation. In obtaining the data, the writer used 16 items open-ended questionnaires and observation to 30 students as the subject of this study. The writer found that there are 26 students, who give positive response to teachers request about cleaning the board, and while four students give negative responses to the teacher’s request about cleaning the board. Student negative responses in other situation such as when the teacher asked for students instruction the responses is a indirect requests also very in politeness for example can you tell me where Jordan Hall is? The responses yes I don’t know. So the writer concluded that the student responses to teacher’s requests are positive.
