A Study on Translation from Indonesia reading Text Into English of the Fifth Semester Students of artha Wacana Christian University in the Academic Year 2015/2016

ABSTRACT
This study entitled “A study on translation from Indonesian reading text into English of the fifth semester students of Artha Wacana Christian University in the academic year 2015/2016. It was conduct to answer the following question: What are the difficulties faced by the fifth semester students of Artha Wacana Christian University in translating reading text from Indonesian into English? The objectives of the study is to find out the difficulties faced by the fifth semester students of Artha Wacana Christian University translating reading text from Indonesian into English. To answer the question mentioned above the writer used the descriptive qualitative method. The subject of this study are the students of Artha Wacana Chiristian University.The total number of the students are 40 and the writer treats them all as the respondents of this study. The instrument used in this research is documentry study. The result shows that the students get difficulties. The part of the difficulties such as grammar, example:SL:Their duty was looked after their father’s garden.TL:Mereka bertugas menjaga kebun ayahnya.The correct translation should be: Their duty was looking after their father’s garden.Vocabularies,example:SL:The piece the meat.TL:Mereka memotong daging babi hutan tersebut.The corrert translation:The slice the meat.Meaning(content),example:SL:They don’t another know.TL:Mereka tidak saling mengenal lagi.The meaning will be changes”Mereka tidak saling mengenal yang lain”.
