A Stdy on Speech Eror Found in Mata Najwa Talk Show Program in the Edition of"Bertaruh di Jakarta"

ABSTRACT
The title of this writing is A STUDY ON SPEECH ERROR FOUND IN MATA NAJWA TALK SHOW PROGRAM. The problem is formulated into the following question: What are types of speech error have been experienced by the guest in the Mata Najwa talk show program? Furthermore, it is aimed to find out and identify the types of speech error that have been experienced by the guest in Mata Najwa talk show program. The method of this research is descriptive method. To find these points, the writer chooses the guest of Mata Najwa Talk Show program. In obtaining the data, the writer uses observation and recording then transcribing the data. The gained data are analyzed using descriptive qualitative method. The result of this research shows types of speech error experienced by the guest which are separated into two major types namely pause and slip of the tongue. Pause is divided into silent pause and filled pause. Silent pause in this case is subdivided into short silence and long silence. The second type of pause is filled pause. Next is slip of the tongue. It is divided into selection error and assembling error. (1) Selection error is subdivided into (a) semantic selection error, (b) Malapropism, (c) Blends. (2) Assembling error. It is subdivided into (a) Transposition, (b) Anticipation, (c) Preservation. All types of speech error describe how a normal oral language is usually disfluent. Finally, the writer suggests for all elements either the speakers or the students that speech error should be paid attention because it involves an important part of using a language orally.
